Volunteer Application Form for 2026

Welcome and thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! This application form is for volunteers on the day of the 2026 Matsuri Japan Festival in Sydney. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team and help us deliver the best event we can.

We welcome people who love events, have an interest in Japanese culture, and are passionate about volunteering with us. Simply complete the form below to apply. We are seeking approximately 50 volunteers to assist in various areas on the day.

Application deadline: 5 November 2026

Conditions of Participation

  • You must attend the staff orientation held from 11:00 AM at the Matsuri venue (Wentworth Park) on 29 November 2026.
  • You must be available from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM on the festival day, Sunday, 6 December 2026.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • This is an unpaid volunteer position. Lunch and an original Matsuri T-shirt will be provided.
  • A certificate will be issued upon completion of the volunteer work. No remuneration will be provided.

    Volunteer T-shirts are available in limited quantities, and your preferred size may not be available. If you already have a volunteer T-shirt from 2024 or 2025, please select the relevant option below.

    Volunteer Role Preference

    This does not guarantee your preferred role on the day.

    Japanese Language Level

    Please tell us about your previous experience and skills, and how you could contribute as a volunteer at Matsuri Japan Festival. Share anything that makes you a great fit or that you would like us to know. Please note that your response may be considered during the selection process.

    Applications will be reviewed after the closing date. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by email.
